Thor Ruskoski, Order Facilitator at Carow Packaging, earned his APICS certification in May of 2017 and has been adding value to customers and suppliers ever since.

APICS started in 1957 as the American Production and Inventory Control Society. APICS is now a global company in over 100 countries and with over 45,000 members. Their mission is “Fostering the advancement of end-to-end supply chain management through a body of knowledge, innovative research, systems, and methods to create value for customers, members, and organizations.”

APICS offers three certifications: CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), and CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution).

APICS certified employees are reported to provide more value to their organization, reduce their organizations costs, and increase customer satisfaction, and Thor has proven that to be true by implementing Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR). After analyzing historical product usage and market trends, Thor conducts monthly forecast meetings with customers to determine future demand. This information has allowed suppliers to adjust production and to ensure customers have access to what they need when they need it.

Thor is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and a masters degree in Teaching. Thor joined Carow Packaging in July 2014 and as an Order Facilitator, applies his math education to manage inventory levels and fulfill customer orders. Thor became a member of APICS in 2015 and earned his CPIM in 2017.
